Well I can tell you one thing, when I started building my automotive portfolio (before I in fact knew I was even “building it”) I never for one day thought it would become what it is now. It all really began and stemmed from my passion for modifying import vehicles, as I was already very consumed in the culture before deciding to try and make something substantial happen with my photography.

With this being said, I was pressing shutter buttons before turning wrenches. I was introduced into the amazing world of photography through a highschool program I decided to take a stab at. All we used were fully manual 35mm B&W cameras, and were showed how to develop our own film and produce our own prints using the chemical trays and enlargers in the dark room. I feel as though since I was able to start with such raw knowledge of how cameras worked it allowed me to transition easily into digital a few years later.

Really my involvement in shooting cars started when i began documenting my own automotive build for a couple years. From there I moved into shooting friends cars for them as much as I could get myself out there. I had no expectation of getting paid, nor did I think my material was up to standards to do so yet. As I continued to develop my skills, and learn all kinds of new techniques from fellow photographers I began investing myself more and more into what had initially started as a “hobby”.

Winter of 2010 was somewhat of a fork in the road for me. I had saved a bunch of money and had to make the decision of….do I spend it on the civic, or blow it all on some new gear to take that long awaited step in my photography. Well, to say the least, I needed a bigger camera bag by the beginning of the summer of 2011. I shoot exclusively Canon, using mostly my 5Dc, but also enjoy blazing through frames on my 7D quite often at the track. Grabbed a whole bunch of L lenses, and never looked back!

So what did I accomplish over the course of the six years since I have been shooting…..well I can honestly say more than anything, photography has allowed me to enjoy my life, travel, and meet some of the best people I know to date solely through this car culture. My passion for automotive modification will never falter, and I can say that even more so for photography as well. I have been through many “phases” in my life, and left most of them behind after thinking they would be around to stay….I can honestly say I could never see myself not being absolutely consumed by photography, automotive modification, and all the benefits that come along with pairing the two!

So that brings me to where I am. A twenty three year old, commercial photographer looking to expose the Canadian automotive scene through my lens. I am also a student Graphic Designer, and look forward to seamlessly incorporating my photography work into my design, and vice versa. I plan to keep an extremely active blog on here, and continue to do as much work for as many new clients as possible throughout the automotive season. My passion for photography has already begun reaching beyond even just the automotive world and into things like portrait, modelling, weddings, product photography, as well as anything I can fit on my plate. I will be launching a separate portfolio site featuring all my work outside of the automotive world soon, so keep an eye out!

The Definition of “TOO-lee-TER”:

The name “Two Litre”….I know it confuses a lot of people, and to a certain extent I kind of like that. It’s essentially a reference to the B20B motor swap I have now put into all four Hondas I have owned to date. It’s a 2.0L DOHC motor, and I absolutely love the reliability and fun this swap brings to all my vehicles :-) Other than that there is no “deeper meaning” behind the name or anything, just something I found clever that only the niche market that I try to expose myself would catch. That’s it!
