In other news I officially started a 365 project, which coincidentally is actually going to end up being a 366 project due to the leap year. What the project entails is I will be taking a photo a day, every day, for the entire year 2012 until January 31st. After the project is complete I plan on compiling the images into some sort of graphically enticing layout, maybe a huge format poster. In terms of shooting due to our beautiful Canadian winters the automotive scene somewhat goes to sleep. I am always on the search to find a car still out and about being driven through our salt covered roads to set-up a winter shoot with. The majority of what my work entails in the winter is most definately modelling/portrait based work for people so unfortunately the content on here slows down quite a bit. I am going to take the next couple of weeks to really add a ton of content to the website including more Portfolio work, more backgrounds, and the merch store will be launching with a couple of items finally!

I will do my best to keep on top of the website as often as I can during this busy time in the year. Hope everyone’s holidays went well, and your New Years resolutions are all on track! Check back soon for lots of new content!

P.S. Just to make sure I keep this post relevent with some content for you guys to check out, I added the thumbnails froma recent photoshoot I did for Rene and Gaetano at Centerline Motorsports. I had the amazing opportunity to take out the 2010 Nissan Skyline for the day, drive it around, and shoot it! Not often is it that a photographer has the freedom to drive some of the vehicles they shoot, but this was obviously a special case! I know quite a few people who have never seen a GTR in person let alone driven one so I feel very blessed

Anyways I was working with a limited time with the vehicle, and the weather was absolutely miserable and freezing as you can tell from the colour temperature in the photos. All in all I’m very happy with how they came out, but will be looking to be able to work more with this car ASAP!

Unfortunately summer is gone, and winter is right around the corner so this may be my last snowless shoot for the year! We’ll see what time I have to squeeze in another one or two possibly…..

Also these photos were taken for part of an advertisement project I’m working on in school so I may post that up when I’m done as well so keep an eye out!

In other news, the Facebook fanpage JUST hit 300 hit’s yesterday which is awesome! Keep those likes coming people, it really means a lot to me for you to show your support! Other than that just trying to organize myself going into this winter season. I hope to do a couple of shoots with some STi’s, Evo’s, and whatever other functional vehicles I can find for the winter to keep the automotive content flowing.

Keep an eye open for many other things to come including a post about the article that I shot in S3mag.com’s newest issue that just hit newstands not even a month ago! I have still been busting my ass to try and get myself a copy as funny as that may sound.

So on to the photos. I tried my best to get some of all the cars that were there during the times I was shooting while I wasn’t busy chilling at the booth, staying in the shade If I didn’t get yours I’m sorry! I have a folder full of photos the girlfriend shot with my second camera that I will go through in the next week and post the best ones of cars I might have missed.

Tomorrow is Battleground Performance’s first ever Show’N'Shine meet in Toronto! The attendance is going to be absolutely HUGE and there are tons of prizes, and give-a-ways to be won! I am one of the official sponsors of the event so one of the prizes is going to be a quick shoot at the show with me, and I will be mailing out two fullsize 13″x19″ prints to the lucky winner! There are things ranging from gift certificates to Battleground, to huge discounts of wheel and tire packages as well so get there and buy some raffle tickets! On top of all this going on there is of course trophies and plaques. From what my boy Mike at BGP is telling me, there are a TON of awards to be won! Custom engraved plaques and trophies will be handed out to the winners that enter there car in the show. It is $30 to enter your car, but free to park. $5 of every entrance fee goes towards charity, and the $30 also gets you a couple raffle tickets for the draw, but these will be on sale seperate for the event goers.

I’m pretty sure that covers everything for now. Make sure you are there tomorrow at HWY 7 & Weston Road in Toronto to partake in all the madness! FULL show coverage will be posted in the coming week from the event of course.

The Cosworth build motor /w custom Cosworth cams finally arrived from Europe, and was quickly transplanted into the heart of the beast. A new set of Volk TE37SLs were purchased as well as another set of Mag blue TE37s for track wheels. On top of this a set of Takata’s, Brides, and a Sparco harness bar were added to the interior. This vehicle already possessed almost every Cusco suspension and performance part available and I tried to get as many detail shots as possible without being to repetitive. Oh yeh…..that Varis CF lip kit you see dressing the vehicle….only one sent to North America for a Sedan so far!

The only thing we missed out on for this shoot would have been rolling/rig shots which are coming VERY soon. Trying to plan some time this week to make them work, I will update this post once that happens! For now stay tuned…..

So this entire California set is basically in chronological order if you start with the photo looking out onto the wing of the plane. The first couple shots are things like my view from the crown plaza hotel, the fancy looking wall/door number, palm trees, etc. Day 2 is where you see the photos beginning to take place in the mountains. Just like last year we ripped up all the way to 8000ft up the Glendhora Mountains, as well as this time we made a stop through the Azuzu Canyons which was equally amazing! Paul had gathered a good group of mixed individuals to shoot some photos with, and have a nice BBQ once we reached the top.

After the mountain shooting we headed back in town towards LA to find some spots to shoot some more individuals, as well as night shots.

The next day was my opportunity to just relax, and enjoy the high priced life of Newport Beach, California which is where I had moved hotels to after LA. Newport is absolutely gorgeous and there was just to much around me to shoot.

Day 3 was a fun one, I took a train out from Newport Beach to San Diego to meet up with my boy Jacob (Dark Grey TL) to once again, meet a new group of cars and start shooting. When I arrived in San Diego I was blown away by the clenliness of the city as I had never been there last year when I came to the West Coast. San Diego absolutely makes LA look like a dump, what a gorgeous down town area. I was picked up by the caravan by the train station, and we drove out to a Marina to begin shooting in front of what looked like potentially 1/2 million dollar yachts.

After about 5 hours of shooting in various places, we headed across the Coronado bridge to find somewhere to eat. Grabbed some epic pizzeria style pizza, and then just checked out the island a bit. The final shot in the set you see, if me looking across from Coronado shooting towards the San Diego downtown core.Afterwards we drove to Jacobs house that wasn’t far, and crashed there for the night. The next day, I trained back to Newport….

All in all this trip to California I would consider much more successful than last year. I got to see a lot more, shoot many different cars, experienced San Diego, and met some new people that I know I will be seeing in the future.

All in all I am very happy with what I ended up with, and everyone had an awesome time on the trip as expected. Met tons of new connections, shot a couple of magazine features, as well as the NYCE1′svideo featurette which should be out soon! Anyways this is only one leg in a huge race of editing that I am in right now. Since Nashville is now complete it’s on to my Killer-Cali content from my recent trip out to the west coast! Keep an eye out for that, and a whole bunch more content flying your way in the next week!

I have been very busy here in California, and hope to deliver some really stellar material to you all sometime early next week hopefully if everything goes according to plan. Please bare with me as I have over 5,000 images to go through between the two trips. I went up with a group of cars to the Glendhora mountains and Azuza Canyons again here in California just like last year for some more breathtaking views! On top of that I took a train out to San Diego to do a whole whack of shooting as well with some really nice rides, while doing all of this I was trying to find a fine balance between vacation and work so I will most likely include some scenic stuff I captured as well sans-vehicles. The image you see above the post was taken at the end of the night of shooting out in San Diego. The location I was at was Coronado island, looking across to the beautiful downtown view of San Diego! I can’t say enough about this city, incredibly clean, tons of nice spots to shoot, and the night life seems to be quite good to even though I was to busy to indulge in any of it this trip.

Anyways that’s enough talking for now, back to editing for me, early to bed, early to rise…..jet-set to the great white North. California I will miss you…….until next time!
